(1) Ben Johansen of Politico at 10:32 am ET: "CNN had been scheduled to travel with Trump to Knoxville, Tennessee, where the president is expected to attend a college football game, as part of the rotating television press pool that covers the president in settings where space is limited. The pool’s reporting and video are shared with other television networks. But CNN was left off White House guidance for Saturday’s trip, preventing the network from carrying out its scheduled pool duties aboard the president’s plane.... One purpose of exploring national parks is to take in the sites in relative quiet and solitude. As the old song goes, a big part of the joy of going to a baseball stadium is the antithesis of solitude: "Take me out to the ball game, Take me out with the crowd." However, slapping up "destination baseball" around national parks is not an entirely new idea.

So I didn't think I had time to watch a 30 minute video about Drexel's decision to close the oldest natural history museum in the country with 30 days notice(!!), but being a museum guy and also someone preternaturally interested in natural science, I was hooked.
But hmmm....what does this remind me of? An out of touch VIP guy who decides, willy nilly, he can just, on his own, decide to eradicate a national treasure....just because?
I do have to say that I'm still not convinced that Drexel will be stopped from this atrocity, but I certainly hope so. One of the things the museum people have going for them is the intensity of Philly people. They do not suffer fools gladly (it's been said, especially of Philadelphia sports fans, that they would boo the cure for cancer--"What took ya so long?"), so there's that.
On the personal experience side, I've been to a lot of stadiums and sports venues wearing my old Red Sox cap, even at Yankee Stadium, where I'd get a lot friendly joshing, but I've never been threatened to be killed as I once was at the old Philadelphia Spectrum where at a Celtics-Sixers game, a Philly fan told me that wearing a Celtics cap at the Spectrum (this was back in the Larry Bird-Dr. J days) might get me shot. People in Philly are seriously intense. Maybe that guy can inform the Drexel people that a similar fate could await them if they close this museum? Not hoping that anyone actually gets shot for something like this....but then again...

Fat Hitler went to a Texas-Tennessee college football game yesterday (where he was booed) and he brought along his usual Trump Jinx (the home team lost, as they almost always do when Fatty shows up).
During the game , he was asked about the Texas QB, Arch Manning. He droned on about how he's a great kid, best genes, etc (Manning's uncles are former NFL quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning and his grandfather is former NFL quarterback Archie Manning).
"'Well, he’s already looking really good and I know the brothers and they’re fantastic. They’re fantastic people. Great quarterbacks and great football players. And he’s got great genetics, I would say. If you’re gonna go for genetics, you can’t do much better. And he’s playing pretty well today,' he said.
Trump said he loves attending sporting events as president, arguing it’s 'important' for the country.
'I love it. They treat me so well. Today with the applause and everything. I don’t think I have any enemies here,' he said."
It's "important for the country" that he go to big sporting events? Since when? And more important than dealing with a war he started, a world wide energy problem he created, skyrocketing prices at gas stations and grocery stores, and plummeting respect for the US around the world, all his fault?

The university settled her claim of sexual assault but referred to it was "horse play". Yeah, just like when Fatty referred to joking that he could grab women by the pussies as "locker room talk". And this is in addition to telling female reporters to be "Quiet Piggy" and yelling at them to shut up and calling them stupid. Years later, Manning referred to the incident in a book and once again went at that trainer saying she had a "vulgar mouth". I guess that made it okay for him to sexually assault her.

I just put my ballot in the drop box. This one was easy, nothing to think about ... straight ticket.
Except for Board of education. Because there is not much readily available information about the candidates, now that the LOWV doesn't do the homework for me.
But, I was surprised at how much objective information you can get from Ballotpedia, which has lots of backgbround subject information as well as candidate bio and elevator-pitch information.
Here we had three state constitutional amendments on the ballot, and Ballotpedia did a good job of explaining the language, pros and cons, supporters and opponents, legislative history, and comparisons to other states' similar issues.
For some reason, my post on Ballotpedia listed me as "Anonymous". Don't know why.
How to Lose.
Here we have two Democrats in states that have a great chance of helping to save the Senate from the clutches of MAGA corruption and insanity. One candidate goes his own way. He's winning. The other is listening to Chuck Schumer approved DC consultants. He's losing to a candidate that should be easier to beat than a rented mule.

Because voters would much rather get a "group selfie" than hear what a candidate has to say about issues that matter to them.
This is why the Chuck Schumer wing of the Democratic Party has to go. Remember the Debbie Wasserman-Schultz nightmare as the DNC chair? Those old school Democratic strategies are what helped give us two terms of the Orange Monster. Do we want to lose MORE races that are eminently winnable?

Forget that our healthcare is controlled by a guy who takes his family swimming in a turd filled stream and works hard every day to find new ways to make the nation sicker.

During an interview, John (DINO) Fetterman was asked why he just doesn't become an independent. (The real answer is independents aren't MAGA enough for Fetty.)
His answer: "Because I'm a lifelong Republican"
The interviewer had to correct him, at least he had to remind him that he PRETENDS to be a Democrat.
